My first purchase of an original Barb Plevan was of this little rabbit. He's even better in person!<br />

I had long been an admirer of Barb's work and had already purchased two of her paintings so you can imagine how thrilled I was when I received this one! Barb's work is truly amazing and it is unbelievable how well she has captured both their personalities. If you know someone out there who needs a portrait of a beloved pet (or pets) I would highly recommend that you get Barb to do it, I can guarantee you will not be disappointed. Not because I disliked my old phone, but because the new phone has a really good camera. In fact that's why I chose the phone I did, it had the best camera. Who cares about the actual phone? Not me. I have become a little obsessed with my camera.(See, I don't even refer to it as my phone...) I've downloaded some of the most popular apps and some not so popular. Maybe it's because my background is in photography and I loved everything about the whole process that I am so enamored with my new device. There's something so fascinating to me about having a darkroom, a slide copier, infrared film, polaroid film, sepia toner, (I could go on and on) all in the palm of your hand. Much like in my darkroom days, I can spend hours and hours manipulating photos on my phone. At this point I'm not really sure what to do with all these photos so I'm going to post a few here. I also have an entire Pinterest board devoted just to pictures of my cats. I'll be posting some of those here as well. Happy viewing!Karen Fincannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05360134232872041409noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3990036403838566496.post-65424045854447689562012-02-19T20:48:00.001-05:002012-02-19T20:49:38.654-05:00Vintage Gnat<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_q7pbXzI6QdmY7WrRi4dHHA0KHKI_H9vk0XjS1uPdnPQesPsPheZp2PaTkeajw-MyEnVYZj1QJSZBfXLC13XzDNikRS8bV-ZVo8D5XwqXfrksY4nmukPs-NT8NKy5iL2bCH5et9tfyko/s1600/vintagegnat.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_q7pbXzI6QdmY7WrRi4dHHA0KHKI_H9vk0XjS1uPdnPQesPsPheZp2PaTkeajw-MyEnVYZj1QJSZBfXLC13XzDNikRS8bV-ZVo8D5XwqXfrksY4nmukPs-NT8NKy5iL2bCH5et9tfyko/s320/vintagegnat.jpg" width="320" />I</a></div>Karen Fincannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05360134232872041409noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3990036403838566496.post-68017317494774113832012-02-19T17:00:00.005-05:002012-02-19T17:14:19.025-05:00Alter Gnat<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6BvzZ2jr6Yen1hxevGqv9771doKsbpvYaum8HqmZWYtFxoUxkCZmYRZX4sOSyud0L5JCqGUX8JdHkBoBro_AwpWFjxhknsUdZVp6QxfnIUC8t7CDXzHUZT-Oyy5PJsTkBPIQfUTr1JbQ/s1600/altergnat.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6BvzZ2jr6Yen1hxevGqv9771doKsbpvYaum8HqmZWYtFxoUxkCZmYRZX4sOSyud0L5JCqGUX8JdHkBoBro_AwpWFjxhknsUdZVp6QxfnIUC8t7CDXzHUZT-Oyy5PJsTkBPIQfUTr1JbQ/s400/altergnat.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5710972906816532162" border="0" />Gnat the Cat looking very sweet and innocent just moments before he destroys the fabric on this chair. <br /></a>Karen Fincannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05360134232872041409noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3990036403838566496.post-76368897327513599432011-08-16T21:48:00.000-04:002011-08-16T21:49:13.293-04:00technology sucks sometimesKaren Fincannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05360134232872041409noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3990036403838566496.post-1086874927109386802011-08-12T22:12:00.002-04:002011-08-12T22:14:51.902-04:00I'm going to try keeping up with my blog on a daily basis. This is probably the most prestigious art festival I have ever gotten in. So if making new work for this festival isn't enough stress, we also decided it's about time to completely overhaul my booth. Here's Paul working on the process.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCbqbsGGoEdiif1VukTLfaM8_cwNPDdNZ6lY9Mng_uEPWW5NIWJmSVapuGO5TAPOTRAXeLwoDcR2-kJ5Mb94NRWrteE34yYUkxOM2A0KP6paiEDBPCtV-wRR_4IpPzMDLT6RKjY0kvgg4/s1600/newbooth.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 600px; height: 450px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCbqbsGGoEdiif1VukTLfaM8_cwNPDdNZ6lY9Mng_uEPWW5NIWJmSVapuGO5TAPOTRAXeLwoDcR2-kJ5Mb94NRWrteE34yYUkxOM2A0KP6paiEDBPCtV-wRR_4IpPzMDLT6RKjY0kvgg4/s400/newbooth.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5578915751687473746" border="0" /></a>I think we're actually making some progress. It's going to be strange to pack for a show and not take all the old familiar accoutrements. Definitely strange in a good way though, especially since the old booth layout looked so cluttered and unprofessional. Goodbye chenille bedspreads! It's been an exciting (and challenging) couple of weeks thinking about and making new work to go in my new booth. Our bluebird also seems to be approving of the new booth structure. See him perched there ? He and the female have been seriously scouting out their nest location and will probably start building their nest shortly. Last year we had three bluebird families in our house and this year looks equally as promising! Welcome Spring!<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmcL9tGT10TmZyHs5EiPZITJ4wVqyoLGhCaCn2VQvcIbyGDDGaSypMQpqTcCxRlrj7aPD29hJjUEowepGZdTRbT4QfNWi2AX2jwjVsx3npnNYCQcVYIiS3EXSDgcitHzi5-6nesol6HHM/s1600/bbird.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 343px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmcL9tGT10TmZyHs5EiPZITJ4wVqyoLGhCaCn2VQvcIbyGDDGaSypMQpqTcCxRlrj7aPD29hJjUEowepGZdTRbT4QfNWi2AX2jwjVsx3npnNYCQcVYIiS3EXSDgcitHzi5-6nesol6HHM/s400/bbird.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5578933248554698850" border="0" /></a>Karen Fincannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05360134232872041409noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3990036403838566496.post-47449850052660902712010-11-25T17:59:00.001-05:002010-11-25T18:03:17.524-05:00Happy Thanksgiving!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgchLsMJw46gVwPS3wUAl4HBFyKN8-E63WBR5k7gjR4sPzyvblgOTn5ls5tbEaJAw12zpWXVZ0CZMNZQi4l1C8cmb9N4eIi8Xm9nRWq2EtnP3hH0d4LUPBl9ZEgNJL-fLFjIv6Hqa4F7Eo/s1600/party+dog.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 318px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgchLsMJw46gVwPS3wUAl4HBFyKN8-E63WBR5k7gjR4sPzyvblgOTn5ls5tbEaJAw12zpWXVZ0CZMNZQi4l1C8cmb9N4eIi8Xm9nRWq2EtnP3hH0d4LUPBl9ZEgNJL-fLFjIv6Hqa4F7Eo/s400/party+dog.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5543626710481184530" border="0" /></a>Karen Fincannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05360134232872041409noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3990036403838566496.post-88311698197478082302009-11-04T20:52:00.003-05:002010-06-01T08:52:52.240-04:00Green artist Bailey Jack<div style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhMsEVFr72u-_gw82AHfNnnr7LTrrrH_FP0KZvZkeTwA3wEvgSxPfgyoBiqDzoHZ5EXNsyqTdq-AnRKRojtubuIFGYZK3azCxMR3tOBm5aiQ0gCIGMp595hS3NPEMgjjEiuKfD3j-im7E/s1600-h/IMG_9727.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhMsEVFr72u-_gw82AHfNnnr7LTrrrH_FP0KZvZkeTwA3wEvgSxPfgyoBiqDzoHZ5EXNsyqTdq-AnRKRojtubuIFGYZK3azCxMR3tOBm5aiQ0gCIGMp595hS3NPEMgjjEiuKfD3j-im7E/s400/IMG_9727.JPG" border="0" /></a> </div><br />Here are a few examples of my friend Bailey Jack's whimsical paintings. Baily paints her ever- so- charming paintings on old doors, found pieces of wood and just about anything else that will stand still long enough to be painted. Bailey is a fast and prolific painter. She has already completed her chair donation for the Furniture Bank of Atlanta's auction and the event isn't until February. I'm donating a chair again this year but if it's anything like the past few years I'll be using a blow dryer to dry the paint so I don't smear it while I'm loading it in the car to take to the auction...Anyway, the best way to see Bailey's work is in person because she always has something new and something funny to say about it. Check out her website here: http://www.baileyjack.net/ , or better yet, come on out and meet this quirky, talented painter.<br /><div style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://picasa.google.com/blogger/" target="ext"><br /></a></div>Karen Fincannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05360134232872041409noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3990036403838566496.post-67879274370074128422009-11-03T21:03:00.000-05:002009-11-03T21:03:06.832-05:00Camelia part deux<div style="MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_hjpuwTSdxb_sbdPl7taYfDMAJY9mxPSoigJFJM3KgzT4CXNU-BJ1FRids6srpt7oUKwQPqk9d7RrHFlP0S1A727eoaTvw4xviVfCiOkYnhn2Pei6vGuHpqWAff0NBM_fQVI71BTrVIU/s1600-h/DSCF0261.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_hjpuwTSdxb_sbdPl7taYfDMAJY9mxPSoigJFJM3KgzT4CXNU-BJ1FRids6srpt7oUKwQPqk9d7RrHFlP0S1A727eoaTvw4xviVfCiOkYnhn2Pei6vGuHpqWAff0NBM_fQVI71BTrVIU/s400/DSCF0261.JPG" border="0" /></a> </div><div style='clear:both; text-align:CENTER'><a href='http://picasa.google.com/blogger/' target='ext'><img src='http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif' alt='Posted by Picasa' style='border: 0px none ; padding: 0px; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial;' align='middle' border='0' /></a></div>Karen Fincannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05360134232872041409noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3990036403838566496.post-3341047218380426162009-11-03T20:57:00.000-05:002009-11-03T20:57:58.468-05:00Camelia<div style="MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgThzneNPzeatLLz_UCoWz4nhvjL-2IHS5mS12EJD2EbfUDmzDt92C4qMPTblpzZh77UXlKgcA_yySYSAeydsm-v5BG6eXzjSPJ3FoOOAF8oJwsnDTlF_Q7-6Fykdk8so2mthVlnz-7WSA/s1600-h/DSCF0257.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgThzneNPzeatLLz_UCoWz4nhvjL-2IHS5mS12EJD2EbfUDmzDt92C4qMPTblpzZh77UXlKgcA_yySYSAeydsm-v5BG6eXzjSPJ3FoOOAF8oJwsnDTlF_Q7-6Fykdk8so2mthVlnz-7WSA/s400/DSCF0257.JPG" border="0" /></a> </div>Well, one nice thing that came out of all the rain we had this year is the Camelia in our front yard had a huge number of flowers on it. Unfortunately, this past Saturday was no exception to the bad weather only on the weekend trend that we've been experiencing lately. That did not stop Peachtree Road Farmer's Market new manager Lauren Carey from brightening up an otherwise dreary Halloween with her heirloom tomato fairy costume made by the market's own Nonni Cely. It's too bad we had such a rainy day, because the market just gets better and better with new vendors and all the old favorites. Check it out Saturday mornings from 8:30 'til noon in the parking lot of St. Philip's Cathedral in Buckhead. Even if it's raining, Lauren will bring a rainbow!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcMoStGJT48au-vCXC4xweyfk9rEek2uS_QS6AmnCFlTrf2AnvyHx1zNVqd9qw023unf6W_X1k_3PGzNYRDtRU9T8TVXb0T1wS0s92vFJr9V599XwlA8A0gEqgIC12xXnK-nb_Xsqw7jc/s1600-h/IMG_1786.JPG"><img style="CLEAR: both; FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcMoStGJT48au-vCXC4xweyfk9rEek2uS_QS6AmnCFlTrf2AnvyHx1zNVqd9qw023unf6W_X1k_3PGzNYRDtRU9T8TVXb0T1wS0s92vFJr9V599XwlA8A0gEqgIC12xXnK-nb_Xsqw7jc/s400/IMG_1786.JPG" border="0" /></a><div style='clear:both; text-align:RIGHT'><a href='http://picasa.google.com/blogger/' target='ext'><img src='http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif' alt='Posted by Picasa' style='border: 0px none ; padding: 0px; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial;' align='middle' border='0' /></a></div>Karen Fincannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05360134232872041409noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3990036403838566496.post-48356546337705096712009-11-02T19:31:00.000-05:002009-11-02T19:31:09.860-05:00<div style="MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-3-qvZdMguN_U14imlaKsauqvdOWa21sEqsSmagUv4A60keVVNnppl6US49642JxiiesRRXnCGTqK44BnKlBK6CJoPmNmaWV5LL1GSfwV36q1sneIr8mG0z37AUZK72wwNC49XkyREto/s1600-h/IMG_1755.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-3-qvZdMguN_U14imlaKsauqvdOWa21sEqsSmagUv4A60keVVNnppl6US49642JxiiesRRXnCGTqK44BnKlBK6CJoPmNmaWV5LL1GSfwV36q1sneIr8mG0z37AUZK72wwNC49XkyREto/s400/IMG_1755.JPG" border="0" /></a> For the past three weekends in a row we've been able to hang out with our friends the Dobsons. Here's Penny and Johnnie up in Rome at the Chiaha festival. We were all very happy that the sun finally came out after several weekends where the weather was less than desirable. Johnnie's taking advantage of the beautiful fall day by catching a few rays and a few z's! So when the forecast was calling for possible showers on Saturday, the market's new manager Lauren Carey decided to take it indooors. This was no small task seeing as how the market was sold to capacity with 41 vendors attending. Lauren did a great job with the whole thing and sending out e-mails to customers encouraging them to come out and show their support to all the farmer's and vendors who lost so much in the flood. Great job Lauren!<div style='clear:both; text-align:CENTER'><a href='http://picasa.google.com/blogger/' target='ext'><img src='http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif' alt='Posted by Picasa' style='border: 0px none ; padding: 0px; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial;' align='middle' border='0' /></a></div>Karen Fincannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05360134232872041409noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3990036403838566496.post-52671830462700195072009-09-22T18:56:00.000-04:002009-09-22T18:56:20.977-04:00The Wille Family<div style="MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh26GzyFune4ZNKpGqY5xn0mC4wGMgCpYLOY6SjEzM5pC3bkmkgj0143i92ezJgCWDuMpSiTKtROwhCVNl5etbsLDfaSSi04-rx04VVIlRUf0I1Gf_FUhypnHTYoK-i0cGDggwEbFyLyJA/s1600-h/IMG_1562.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh26GzyFune4ZNKpGqY5xn0mC4wGMgCpYLOY6SjEzM5pC3bkmkgj0143i92ezJgCWDuMpSiTKtROwhCVNl5etbsLDfaSSi04-rx04VVIlRUf0I1Gf_FUhypnHTYoK-i0cGDggwEbFyLyJA/s400/IMG_1562.JPG" border="0" /></a> </div><br />Shannon and Brian braved the elements Sunday and stopped by our booth with Charlotte and Emerson just as it began to pour.
